During her time at NAU she began volunteering at a local animal shelter and shadowing her lifelong veterinarian to pursue her dream to become a veterinarian. She completed her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2021 from Midwestern University. During her time as a student at Midwestern University she volunteered at the Wildlife World Zoo, performed research on white tailed deer and chickens, and worked at the veterinary microbiology lab.
In her free time, Kahla enjoys camping with her two dogs or snuggling with her cats on the couch.
